Amla (Phyllanthus emblica) also known as "After Sweet" is a fruit grown widely in Fujian Province of China. It has been used for centuries as a digestive aid, especially after a meal containing meats and oils. Ancient classics state "taking this fruit for a long time will help you possess a light body and longevity." This healthy aging wonderful tonic fruit has powerful antioxidant activity; one fruit contains 20 times more vitamin C than an orange. Amla moistens the lungs, restores internal fluids, relieves thirst, supports eliminative health and protects the liver, particularly in dry environments.
