In China Coriolus versicolor is known as the “cloud mushroom.” In traditional herbalism, extracts of Coriolus were used to support Lung and Liver health. A Ming dynasty edition of the Materia Medica states that “The cloud mushroom is beneficial to one’s spirit (Shen) and vital energy (Qi), and strengthens the tendons and bones (Jing). If cloud mushroom is taken for a long time, it will make one vigorous and will contribute to a long life.” Coriolus is an important immune modulator.
