Jem Organic Nut Butters are crafted with care in Bend, Oregon, beside the breathtaking peaks of the high Cascades. It is with nature’s rich bounty in mind, that they developed a line of sweet and savory nut butters that are both indulgent and functional. The company is a small and dedicated group of health enthusiasts who honor practices and ingredients that wholly embody goodness, and who believe in the power of food to not only sustain, but to nourish, inspire and build community! Their founders are: Jen Moore, CEO, nutrition expert, & mother of three; Tim Moore, Co-Founder & resident musician; Nik Rueth, COO & yoga enthusiast; all deeply committed to celebrating vibrant tradition, food and life!

Jem Organics is committed to make the finest quality, organic nut butters using wholesome and natural ingredients that are 100% OTC-USDA certified organic, Gluten Free, non-GMO and vegan. To support this commitment, they voluntarily hire third party labs to test random samples of their nut butters for any hidden pesticides, harmful heavy metals, microbes or pathogens. Their GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is informed by the dedication to nutrient-rich foods as well as promoting business practices that respect the Earth, all its inhabitants and the environment in which we all live.

Jem Organics source fair trade ingredients of the highest quality, including Spanish Almonds, which they hand-select for their exceptional flavor profile and raw integrity. The ingredients are all 100% OTC-USDA Certified Organic, truly raw, and free from pesticides, gluten, dairy, soy and processed sugar, so you can indulge in Jem guilt-free.

For maximum flavor and nutrient absorption, they sprout the nuts for 24 hours. During this sprouting process, phytic acid and enzyme-inhibitors are removed making the seed easier to digest and assimilate. After the nuts have sprouted, they dehydrate them, which takes another 24 hours in preparation for grinding and blending. Can you say small-batch? Absolutely.

How did the spreads become so smooth and velvety? Stone-grinding is the secret behind Jem’s smooth texture. They grind at slow speeds to keep the ingredients raw, for optimal nutrient absorption and flavor. The process can take up to 48 hours per batch, but the results are special. They grind every ingredient so that no particle exceeds 20 microns, which is the point where the human tongue can no longer detect texture. Neat stuff.
