Dragon Herbs tinctures, “Dragon Drops,” are recognized by herbal connoisseurs around the world as the premier tonic herbal tinctures. They are alcohol-and-water extracts of the highest quality tonic herbs in the world. These highly concentrated fluid extracts are available in 2 ounce glass dropper bottles with glass droppers. Dragon Drops formulations are developed by Master Herbalist Ron Teeguarden. We buy our herbs directly from herb farmers and herb hunters and we only use “beyond commercial” grade A+ herbs.
Process
There are two primary natural solvents in this world: water and alcohol. A plant’s active compounds are usually either water-soluble or alcohol-soluble.
Water is a polar solvent, meaning that there is an uneven distribution of electron density. Compounds such as alkaloid salts, polysaccharides, and some glycosides with high polarity are water soluble and therefore suitable for water extraction.

4 Stage Water Filtration And Purification System

Water used to produce Dragon Drops is purified to high quality drinking water standards. Our computer controlled water filtration system involves 4 stages of filtration and multiple filtration mediums. Our filtration system is capable of outputting injection grade water.
Alcohol is a semi-polar solvent. Compounds with low polarity are more soluble in alcohol - this includes free alkaloids, saponins and essential oils. Reishi’s triterpenes, Ginseng’s ginsenosides, Astragalus’ astragalosides all need alcohol to be fully extracted. Different types of compounds require different alcohol strengths. Alcohol has been used from time immemorial to extract oily and saponin-rich herbs.

The best full spectrum extraction method is to extract plants using both water and alcohol. That is how Dragon Drops are made. Our Dragon Drops go through two rounds of water extraction and 1 round of alcohol extraction. For every ounce of Dragon Drops, 24 ounces of solvents are used: a 24:1 solvents to finished product ratio to avoid reaching saturation point. More solvents mean more active constituents coming out and a more complete extraction. The extracted materials from all three rounds (water and alcohol) are then combined and condensed by removing the majority of the solvents, reducing the volume by 95%. Essential oils evaporated during the extraction are captured in oil traps and added back to the final extracts. What you receive in our tinctures are therefore the essence of the essence. It has the best of both worlds: all the water-soluble compounds AND alcohol-soluble compounds.
Most tinctures on the market are not true extracts. They are actually just solvents infused with herbs. They do not go through an actual extraction and condensation process because the alcohol extraction and condensation equipment is very expensive; the facility has to be rigorously permitted by the government and the production process needs to be carefully controlled due to the combustibility of alcohol.
As a result, most companies do not use heat in their tincture production so they do not have to invest in high tech equipment upfront and they can keep the ongoing operating costs low. In their low tech procedure, dry herbs are soaked in 20-90% alcohol then the infused solvent is sold. That is it. No heat, no condensing. What goes into the infusion tank is what comes out. A 1:1 solvents to finished product ratio. This means the saturation point is easily reached and much of the active constituents are left behind. The entire process can be summarized as “Soak-Stir-Sell”. The end products of “Soak-Stir-Sell” in tincture form are, in reality, solvents infused with herbs. Infusions are NOT extracts. They are thin, often light colored and very weak.
Potency
Because of the fundamental difference in manufacturing methodology, Dragon Herbs tinctures pack substantially more substance into 1 fluid ounce than our competitors, some by 4433% more.

Price
It has been a major goal of Dragon Herbs for the many years to make our Dragon Drops affordable by all. We are happy to announce that we are finally there. Most of our Dragon Drops cost less than $10 per fluid ounce.
How do we do it? Economy of Scale. Dragon Herbs produces its tinctures in a pharmaceutical factory. We produce in large volume to maximize our raw material buying power and to achieve industrial scale production efficiency. We then pass the savings onto our end users.
Packaging
Keep Dragon Drops out on the counter to encourage compliance. Compliance is the first rule of tonic herbalism: If you don’t take the herbs, they don’t work.
